Please
read prior to sending Dr. Klein any e-mail
May 30, 2005
I tried to facilitate communication with my patients
by offering e-mail. However, the technology is not perfect and it
is risky to depend on electronic communication alone for important
medical communication. Another concern is one of confidentiality.
No one has access to the e-mail but me and my office staff. There
is also the inherent (but very minimal) risk associated with sending
information over the internet. (For further information about this,
contact your internet service provider [ISP]). However, you should
expect that any information sent to me via e-mail will be given
the same respect and confidence as all information in your paper
medical record.
However, now that my practice has closed, none
of the information communicated via email is part of your medical
record. Additionally, my medical liability insurance no longer covers
me for "treating" patients. Therefore all communications
must be by necessity of a general nature.
This may be questions such as, "Will I like
this new doctor?" or "Who would you suggest I see for
my nameadisease." Or just to say hello.
I am keeping this domain and website active mainly
because of requests from patients and to keep the email account
that I have used for the past seven years. I hope that I continue
to hear from patients.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT
for medical problems. If you have an urgent medical problem, please
call Dr. Krumian at 805-381-2853. If it is an emergency, call 911.
By sending an e-mail to Dr. Klein, I acknowledge
that I have read the above information and understand the limitations
of electronic communication.
